In April, I pulled out my secondhand sewing machine, relearned how to thread a bobbin and started making face masks.

After more than 50 masks, I have two hard-won tips for anyone getting started sewing face masks:
Use tightly woven 100% cotton fabric. And, I like fabric with big patterns, bright colors and fun designs – the masks are more fun to wear!
If your stitches are loose or bunchy, make sure you have your machine threaded correctly!
