Just a sampling of Linda Fierce’s summer reading collection.
I have a problem. I love books, I love reading and I’ve never gone into a bookstore and come out empty-handed. The result: lots and lots of books on my shelves. Old releases and new ones. Books I should have read in high school but didn’t. Books with beautiful covers and riveting subjects.
Luckily, being stuck at home gave me an opportunity to tackle this very tall stack of unread books. Grouped by categories, here are a couple of suggestions:
Thrillers with the word “Woman” in the title:
”The Woman in Cabin 10” – Ruth Ware
”The Woman in the Window” – A.J. FlynnRiveting non-fiction that reads like a novel:
”Educated – A Memoir” – Tara Westover
”The Library Book” – Susan OrleanCourageous females during wartime:
”The Nightingale” – Kristin Hannah
”Girl at War” – Sara NovićA mix of a little jazz and a lot of blues:
”Rules of Civility” – Amor Towles
”Windy City Blues” – Renee RosenGreat writing and solid storytelling:
”Virgil Wander” – Leif Enger
”Lost & Found” – Brooke Davis
”This Tender Land” – William Kent Krueger
Tip: I finally gave myself permission to quit reading books that didn’t do it for me. Life’s too short!
