If you’re not using SEO to get noticed, you’re doing it wrong. SEO—or Search Engine Optimization—uses the most common phrases, words and web optimization to bring your brand to the top of Google, Bing, Yahoo!, DuckDuckGo, Ask.com or whatever else you’re using to search the internet.  

We took a look at Search Engine Watch’s The State of SEO in 2019, which is based on findings from an annual Zazzle Media survey, and pulled what we found to be the most insightful tidbits. Read on for our take, and then explore the infographic yourself.

  • More and more companies are benefiting from using SEO.

    From 2018 to 2019, there has been an 18% increase in companies reporting that SEO is effective for their brand—up from 79% to 97%.

  • SEO is a metrics game.

    When asked why they use SEO, companies reported their number one reasons were traffic and conversion/sales.

  • Great web copy involves SEO. 

    The two top SEO practices that companies reported being the most effective for their brand were keyword saturation and exact match anchor text—both stemming from what is written on your company’s website.
